Holofication

1. Holofication Nation (Get it for your android) Free

More than two years after the Holo visual style became standard, there are still quite a few major apps and publishers that aren’t on the trolley. Plenty of eager graphic designers have submitted visuals for Holo versions of these apps, but the two-man team at Holofication Nation has gone further: they’ve actually remade the apps themselves. If that’s not enough for you, they’ve also released an official HN app to the Play Store, making it easy to download and update these unofficial app mods.

Cast

2. Cast for Muzei (Get it for your android) Free

The Chromecast sure has some pretty backgrounds these days, and now you can get them in Muzei. This extension pulls from the same feed Google uses for the Chromecast’s backgrounds. There are no settings in this app, though. It just updates when the feed does.

Meet

3. Meet Me Halfway (Beta) (Get it for your android) Free

Folks who frequently use Craigslist or other online services to sell goods to nearby residents, should check out Meet Me Halfway. The app allows users to punch in two different addresses, then shows the halfway point and local points of interest in that area. For example, if I was trying to meet someone from Salem and I was in Portland, it displays a few major rest stops/gas stations halfway between the two of us, perfect for a safe exchange of goods and cash.

GCloud

4. G Cloud backup (Get it for your android) Free

MultiMuze

5. MultiMuze (Get it for your android) $8.14

Ever since developers were turned loose on the new Muzei live wallpaper, we’ve been seeing really cool extensions. A lot of extensions, actually. So many that it can be hard to choose which one to use. Now you don’t have to agonize over the decision – MultiMuze cycles through them all automatically.

Dormi

6. Dormi – Baby Monitor (Get it for your android) Free

Baby monitors are useful, but they’re kind of dumb. Think walkie-talkie dumb. But we live in the world of smartphones now, and these nifty little things are capable of replacing just about anything. With the new Dormi Android app, you can take two Android devices and turn them into a baby monitor that won’t weigh you down.

Alarm

7. AlarmPad Free (Beta) (Get it for your android) Free

Being woken from a deep sleep by an intrusive sound is never fun, so it’s easy to grow resentful of your alarm app. It’s a necessary evil, right? AlarmPad is a new beta alarm app that tries to add some context to your alarms to make itself useful beyond just waking you up from a restful sleep. You may not love it, but you might respect it.

Glove

8. Glove – A Network That Fits (Get it for your android) Free

It’s hard to put into words the frustration of a junky cell phone signal. On one hand, the fact we are able to communicate to any degree with devices that fit in our pockets is cool, but getting reliable data is also a big deal these days. Maybe Glove can help. It claims to have the ability to tell you which network is best for your usage after just three days of analysis. Let’s see if it fits like a glove.

TheT

9. The Tonight Show: Jimmy Fallon (Get it for your android) Free

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will never be the same. It can’t be. Fallon has moved on to replace Jay Leno on the Tonight Show, and tonight’s his first day on the job. If the final episode of Late Night wasn’t enough to hype you up for the big event, NBC has now released a dedicated app into the Play Store. And with it, you can start to enjoy Fallon in the daytime, too.

Colossus

10. Colossus Escape (Get it for your android) Free

It may seem at first that Colossus Escape is an endless runner, but that’s not entirely accurate – it’s broken up into levels. Not that you don’t have a reason to run pretty much forever… Colossus is a very angry looking god-like being and he’s right behind you. You have to keep running and picking up potions to avoid being eaten, which is bad news for everyone but Colossus.

Zoolz Unlimited
